What we do

At Fundacja Pomocny Zaprzęg, our hearts beat for northern breed dogs — such as Huskies, Malamutes, and Samoyeds — dogs known for their strength, endurance, and breathtaking beauty. Unfortunately, that same beauty is often their downfall.

Many people are captivated by their icy blue eyes and wolf-like appearance, unaware that these breeds are high-energy, intelligent, and extremely demanding. When their needs are not met — when long walks turn into short leash trips, and when companionship turns into loneliness — they suffer. Too often, they end up abandoned, chained, or surrendered to shelters.

That’s when we step in.

Our foundation provides a second chance for these incredible dogs. We rescue those who have been mistreated, neglected, or left behind, and we give them everything they need to start over:

• Medical Care: Comprehensive veterinary exams, vaccinations, sterilization, and ongoing treatment for illness or injury.

• Safe Shelter: Warm, clean, and comfortable temporary homes where they can rest and heal.

• Emotional Rehabilitation: Many of our dogs come from traumatic backgrounds. We work patiently to rebuild their trust in humans.

• Behavioral Support: Training, socialization, and tailored care to help them adapt to new families.

• Education & Awareness: We teach future owners about the unique needs of northern breeds — because understanding prevents abandonment.

• Adoption & Placement: Our ultimate goal — finding every dog the perfect forever home, full of love, patience, and care.

Each rescued dog represents a story of hope — but also a real cost.
Feeding, veterinary care, medication, and rehabilitation can reach hundreds of złotych each month per dog. We rely entirely on donations, sponsors, and the generosity of people who share our passion.

Together, we can make sure that no northern breed dog is ever forgotten or left behind.

Meet Hope – a delicate, compact husky girl. Born in 2023. Small in stature, but with a huge heart that is slowly beginning to trust that the world can be good.

Hope is very well-behaved, calm, and gentle. She's still a bit shy and reserved, but as soon as she's close to someone, she melts. It's with people that she feels safest.

She rides beautifully in the car, is learning to walk on a leash, and is making tremendous progress every day. She's a wonderful dog for someone who has warmth, patience, and a willingness to give her time—and in return, she'll receive the most faithful friend.

Hope is waiting for a home that will show her that nothing bad will ever happen again. That she is loved. That she belongs to "someone."

Wanted

The Pomocny Zarzęg Foundation is asking for help in finding missing dogs owned by the Foundation.

The dogs were temporarily staying in Michałów, Halinów commune, Masovian Voivodeship.

They were to be picked up on a date agreed with their temporary guardians on October 6, 2023, between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM, and transported to a location designated by the Foundation.

On the morning of October 6, 2023, we were informed that the dogs had escaped during the night.
